Graduate Student Events

The Office of Graduate Studies is hosting the following upcoming events for graduate
students (details follow the listing of workshops):

Event Information:

Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Workshop

This workshop is for any student who will be submitting a thesis or
dissertation. It covers the process of submitting electronic theses
and dissertations online at KU and the steps leading up to submission,
including formatting your thesis/dissertation, getting the title and
acceptance pages signed and turned in, paying fees, deciding whether
to register your copyright, dealing with supplementary files, and
making a PDF version of your thesis/dissertation to submit.
Co-sponsored by Graduate Studies and the Libraries. Registration is
not required.

Electronic Transcripts: Informational Brown Bag Session for Students,
Staff, and Faculty

The Office of Graduate Studies and the Registrar's Office will co-host
a brown bag workshop on electronic transcripts.

Friday, October 30th
12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
Big 12 Room, Kansas Union

Electronic transcripts are now available from KU, and representatives
from the Registrar's Office will explain how students can use this new
option and answer any questions. The Office of Graduate Studies will
present on the use of electronic transcripts in the graduate
admissions process here at KU.

Students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to bring a lunch and
questions about electronic transcripts. Beverages and refreshments
will be provided. Registration is not required.

EndNote X3: Libraries and Databases

Monday November 2nd
12:00 to 1:30 PM
Anschutz Instruction Center

In this 90-minute hands-on workshop, attendees will learn to import
references from library databases and other online resources, and
organize those references within an EndNote library and add
attachments.

EndNote X3: Bibliographies and Cite-While-You-Write

In this 90-minute hands-on workshop, attendees will use the EndNote
library of references to insert automatically formatted citations into
your papers, articles, and manuscripts using Word and EndNotes
Cite-While-You-Write tool.

ETS Personal Potential Index Brown Bag Lunch Session

Join the Office of Research and Graduate Studies for a brown bag lunch
on Educational Testing Service’s (ETS) new service, Personal Potential
Index. To help students, faculty, and staff with the PPI, we are
offering information on this new testing service which could become
more popular in the upcoming years:
